Consent comes first – always ask, never assume.
Respect boundaries – everyone’s body, role and choices deserve respect.
Inclusive dancing – support same-sex dancing and switching roles.
Respectful language – no slurs, sexist, racist, queerphobic, transphobic, ableist or ageist behaviour.
Community care – look out for each other and respect privacy.
At classes, socials and parties we expect everyone to:
Ask first before changing role or connection.
Accept “no” – “No, thank you” is always valid.
Keep it appropriate – no sexual touching or advances while dancing.
Apologise if accidental inappropriate contact happens.
Romantic interest – ask respectfully, once, off the dancefloor; accept “no”.
Be inclusive – welcome newcomers and all gender expressions.
Sexual harassment or unwanted touching.
Persistent advances after refusal.
Catcalling, abusive language, or “jokes” that demean.
Targeting or excluding people based on identity.
Online harassment of people you meet at events.
